LSU was impressive in defending home court against the visiting tide.  Previous to the game, Alabama head coach Anthony Grant suspended three key players JaMychal Green, Anthony Steele, and Trevor Releford.  The outmanned tide couldn’t keep up although they made a few runs to cut the tiger lead late in the game.

Justin Hamilton led the way with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.  Johnny O’Bryant was huge as well with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

Freshman guard Rodney Cooper stepped up in the place of the suspended Alabama players and scored 28 points
