The LSU Tigers Basketball Team Will Try to Move on When they Travel to UC Irvine Tuesday 9:00
The 6-1 LSU basketball team aims to overcome the recent loss at Boise State. The tigers again travel out west looking for their first road victory of the young season. The UC Irvine anteaters may have a 5-6 record but a road game to California will prove to be another tough test for the tigers.
Irvine is fresh off a win on the road at Fresno State 58-51 in which junior guard Chris McNealy finished with 13 points. McNealy averages 9.2 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. 6’9 senior center Adam Folker and 6’8 sophomore Will Davis II both average almost 6.5 rebounds a game. The assist leader on the Irvine team is freshman guard Alex Young.
The anteaters are ranked 5th nationally in rebounding and are a very well balanced team in scoring. Over 6 players on the Irvine team average over 6 points a game.
The 89-70 loss in Boise, Idaho leaves LSU with a lot to work on in the near future. The tigers will need to improve their rebounding as they were dominated in that category on friday night.
Junior forward Shavon Coleman leads the tigers with 15 points per game and a 7.6 per game rebounding average. Sophomore forward Johnny O’Bryant III has a 13.8 points per game average and 8.3 rebounds per game.
