LSU Basketball Hosts Houston Baptist on Friday Night at 7:00 CST
The tigers return home from a grueling out of conference road schedule that included Boise State, UC Irvine, and Marquette. LSU hosts Houston Baptist and is looking to get back in the win column. The Houston Baptist Huskies bring a 4-7 early season record into the PMAC Friday night. The huskies do not present the challenge that Boise State or Marquette do especially considering the tigers are back at home but Houston Baptist will be the tigers second to last opponent before they begin the daunting task of taking on the rest of the SEC.
Junior forward Shavon Coleman still leads the tigers in scoring with 14.4 points per game and also has over 7 rebounds a game. Sophomore forward Johnny O’Bryant is second in scoring with 13.3 points a game but leads the team in rebounds with 8.5. Anthony Hickey score an average of 10.3 points a game but leads the team in assists with 4.1. It is a real comfort for the tiger to have 5 players who average over 9 points a game.
Houston Baptist is lead in scoring by senior forward Art Bernardi with 14.3 points per game. Art also leads the team in rebounding with 5.5 per game. Sophomore guard Tyler Russell and sophomore guard Marcel Smith lead the team in assists.
