#2 LSU Gets Production from Bottom Third of the Lineup and Aaron Nola Sparks the Tigers Past South Carolina 5-2; Game 2 6:30 Saturday Cox Sports Television
The tigers took the all important first game of the series Friday night with another complete game ” Pitching Gem” from sophomore right-hander Aaron Nola. Ty Ross, Jacoby Jones, and Jared Foster had two hits apiece and Sean McMullen had 3 RBI’s and scored a run. It was just the right ingredients for the tigers to move within one game of winning the series between the #2 and #10 ranked teams and between the 2009-2011 national champions.
The tigers move to 39-4, 16-3 SEC while the gamecocks fall to 31-12, 11-8 SEC. LSU right-hander Ryan Eades (7-1, 2.56 ERA) will face South Carolina left-hander Jordan Montgomery (3-0, 1.14 ERA) in game 2.
