Grant Dozar’s RBI single in the top of the 13th inning proved to be the game winner as the tigers (37-10, 15-7) took the opener from the rebels (30-17, 10-12). Even though at times late in the game, Ole Miss loaded the bases and had numerous chances to pull it out but the LSU pitchers and defense held on tight until they could deliver the timely hit which turned out to be the difference in the 4th extra innings.
The tigers will send Ryan Eades to the mound today in hopes of locking up a series victory when the second game of the series begins at 2. The game today can be seen on ESPN 3 or also on Fox Sports Houston.
