#2 LSU Baseball back Home Against #7 Kentucky for a 3 Game Series; All 3 Games on Cox Television
The first game of the series between the second-ranked LSU tigers (27-2, 8-1 SEC) and the Kentucky wildcats (22-6, 6-3 SEC) will take place at Alex Box stadium beginning on Friday at 7:00. Game 2 on Saturday at 6:30 PM and then the final game of the series will be at 12:00 noon on Sunday. All three games are to be aired on Cox Sports Television.
LSU is tied for the SEC lead and is currently on a nine game winning streak. The tiger pitching staff is ranked fourth in the league with a team ERA of 2.49. Aaron Nola is most likely to start the Friday game while Ryan Eades will most likely start Saturday. LSU leads the SEC in team batting at .308. The tigers also lead the league in home runs with 27 total. LSU is the SEC’s top fielding team with an fielding percentage of .981. Senior first baseman Mason Katz leads the tigers with a .430 batting average. Katz leads the nation in RBI’s with 49 and has an SEC leading 13 homers. Alex Bregman has a team high batting average of .440 with nine doubles, three triples, three homers, 24 RBI’s, 35 runs, and nine solen bases.
The wildcats are led by junior outfielder J.T. Riddle who bats .352 with six doubles, one triple, one homer, and 17 RBI’s. Kentucky’s team batting average is .268 which is fifth in the SEC and the wildcats have hit 18 home runs which is 3rd in the SEC.
