#2 ranked LSU baseball (28-2, 9-1 SEC) combined a hot hitting performance with an impressive performance by tiger pitcher Aaron Nola (5-0) in defeating #7 ranked Kentucky in game 1 Friday night.  Nola completed seven innings giving up only four hits and one earned run.  Kentucky (22-7, 6-4)  was silenced by Nola and failed repeatedly to answer LSU’s onslaught of runs late,

The fifth, six, and seventh innings were huge for the tigers as they added numerous runs in those innings which were unanswered by the wildcats.   Nine of LSU’s runs came with two outs.

With the win, the tigers matched the best start in school history.  Game 2 begins at 6:30 and is again to be televised  by Cox Sports.
