LSU baseball (45-7, 21-6 SEC) needed an extra inning to defeat  Texas A&M (27-24, 11-15 SEC) in a game already shortened to 7 innings due to this weekends numerous weather delays.  Chris Cotton shut the door on the aggies who made a series win in College Station more than the #3 tigers may have bargained for.  With the win the tigers have secured the SEC western division championship.

LSU junior catcher Ty Ross made two critical plays that helped the tigers to the win.  Ross recorded an out on an aggie bunt attempt which was fouled behind the plate in the 7th inning and then led off the 8th with the game winning double.
