LSU Baseball Wins 9-4 Friday Night Over Auburn; Game 2 Saturday 6:30
Even though the LSU tigers were out hit friday night it was the long ball that was LSU’s reason for success. Leftfielder Raph Rhymes started things off with a 3-run homer in the first inning. First baseman Mason Katz had a two-run homer of his own later on to put the tigers up 5-2 his 10th homer of the season. The steady pitching of Aaron Nola (3-0)kept the Auburn tigers at bay for the 9-4 victory. Nola finished with 6.2 innings pitched while giving up 2 runs and nine hits.
LSU moved to 20-2, 3-1 SEC while Auburn fell to 15-7, 0-4 SEC. The tigers will go for the series victory today at 6:30 PM with junior right-hander Ryan Eades.
