The tigers look to get back on the winning track and back to .500 in the conference when they host the crimson tide Saturday. LSU ‘s slim NCAA tournament hopes are still alive but they are more likely headed to the NIT in the post season which is a big credit to head coach Johnny Jones and his players. The tiger men’s basketball team enters the game with a 15-9, 6-7 SEC record while Alabama comes in at 18-8, 10-3 SEC.
The crimson tide is led by junior guard Trevor Releford who averages 14.5 points a game, 2.3 rebounds a game, and 2.6 assists. Trevor Lacey has 11.9 points a game, 4 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game. Sophomore guard Rodney Cooper has 11.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Levi Randolph has 7.7 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and nearly 2 assists per game.
The tigers are led by sophomore forward Johnny O’Bryant III who has 13.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, 1.6 assists per game, and 15 blocked shots in total this year. Sophomore guard Anthony Hickey is second in scoring per game with 11.8 points. He also has 3.5 rebounds per game and 3.9 assists per game.
