Odell Beckham’s Punt Return Late Helps #7 LSU Overcome Ole Miss 41-35
On a day of mayhem and upsets the tigers survived. LSU’s very dependable defense surrendered 310 yards and 2 touchdowns to Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace. Although the tigers did come up with 3 interceptions, they were burned all day by the rebel sophomore quarterback.
The tigers did what winning teams do when they face a fired up underdog team; they survived. With the help of Odell Beckham Jr.’s 89 yard punt return the tigers were able to leave tiger stadium with a 41-35 victory.
LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger became the first tiger to throw for 200-plus yards in three straight games since Matt Flynn in 2007. Zach completed 22 of 37 passes for 282 yards.
The come-from-behind-win was the 20th fourth-quarter comebeback under Les Miles.
