Tiger Basketball Gets a Big Win over Seton Hall in the Big East/SEC Challenge 72-67

LSU rallied past Seton Hall Thursday night to improve their record to 5-0.  Johnny Jones first team in Baton Rouge is providing some excitement early.  The Tigers were led by Shavon Coleman who had 14 of his total 18 points in the second half.  LSU basketball which has struggled so far at the free throw line, hit their final 6 free throws of the game to preserve the win in the Pmac.  Andre Stringer hit 4 free throws in the remaining 39 seconds and  Charles Carmouche added 2 as well.

The pirates held a 35-27 point advantage at halftime.  Things looked very good for Seton Hall  as they led by 16 points early in the second half.  However during the next break in play, LSU switched to a full court press which helped force the pirates to give up the ball on 5 of the next 8 possesions.  The tigers forced the pirates into commiting 26 turnovers and clearly the tiger pressure frustrated Seton Hall.

Johnny O’Bryant and Anthony Hickey were key in the tiger comeback. Johnny O’ Bryant finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Hickey finished with 10 points.  Andre Stringer also finished with 10 points.
