Johnny O’Bryant III is soon to be a household name. Well at least in Baton Rouge. He scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, and had 2 blocks in the Tigers opening victory over Nicholls State. The 6-9 Freshman is sure to be a fan favorite this season and draw plenty of fans that haven’t made a visit to the Pmac in quite a while. O’Bryant’s size, athleticism, and ability to draw defenders will be a key asset to this year’s team. The Tigers also have some very good guards such as Andre Stringer and Anthony Hickey who can not only do a great job of distributing the ball but are deadly from outside as well which they showed numerous times Saturday against Nicholls. Justin Hamilton is a 7 foot center who commands respect both on offense and defense. This team is as deep as any LSU team I have witnessed in the past 5 years. The Tigers return to action Tuesday at 6PM.
