LSU Basketball Extends their Winning Streak to 4 with a Win Over the Georgia Bulldogs 61-53
(17-10, 7-6 SEC) (12-15, 3-10 SEC)
The Georgia bulldogs did not represent the toughest competition as they came into the a PMAC in 2nd to last place in the SEC. LSU led Georgia by double digits most of the first half before the bulldogs climbed back within 6 before the break. The bulldogs fought hard to keep up the pace but were unable to overcome Johnny O’Bryant and the rest of the red hot tigers as LSU extended its SEC winning streak to 4 games and helped their position for post season play. Georgia did not make it easy as they fought hard down the stretch. Unfortunately the tigers will not get a chance to prove themselves in the remaining regular season play as only Tennessee has a winning conference record. The tigers will probably need to make the semifinals of the SEC tournament in New Orleans to do better than a NIT bid.
Johnny O’Bryant was impressive again with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 block. Andre Stringer had 18 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists. Georgia was led by senior guard Gerald Robinson with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
