Senior shortstop Austin Nola hit a two-run homer Friday night to give the tigers (34-9, 13-6) an opening night series win over the bulldogs (24-19, 8-11).  Junior left hander Chris Cotton (5-0) got the victory for the tigers in relief while Nick Goody earned his eighth save.  Kevin Gausman (7-1) gave up 10 hits although he was impressive in limiting those hits to singles.  Gausman gave up 5 runs although only 3 that were earned but he did strike out nine batters.

Sophomore right hander Ryan Eades will pitch for LSU on Saturday at 6:30.  Georgia will send right hander Michael Palazzone to face Eades in hope that they can even up the series.
