LSU Defeats Vanderbilt in the Pmac Wednesday Night 57-56
The tigers extended their winning streak to 3 games Wednesday night and moved to 13-7, 4-5 SEC while the commodores dropped to 8-13, 2-7 SEC. The tigers now hit the road for 2 contests at Alabama Saturday night and at South Carolina on Feb. 14th.
Tiger sophomore guard Anthony Hickey finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. Sophomore forward Johnny O’Bryant finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Senior guard Charles Carmouche finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Freshman guard Malik Morgan had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Commodore junior forward Rod Odom finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.

The commodores feature a struggling team that has lost their last three games. Junior guard Kyle Fuller averages 10.1 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, and 2 assists.
LSU who has been hot recently is led by sophomore guard Anthony Hickey with 12.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, and 3.6 assists. Junior forward Shavon Coleman has 11.9 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. Anthony Hickey hit a jump shot with 1.5 seconds left to give the tigers their first SEC road victory of the season. The tigers stunned the bulldogs and their home crowd after trailing the entire contest. The LSU tigers improve to 12-7, 3-5 SEC while the Mississippi State bulldogs fall to 7-13, 2-6 SEC.
Johnny O’Bryant III led the tigers with 12 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Anthony Hickey finished with 12 points as well to go with 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. The tigers are coming off perhaps their most impressive win this season and look to continue their success with a trip to Humphrey Coliseaum in Starkville, MS Saturday. The Mississippi State bulldogs of 2013 do not represent one of the better bulldog teams of the past decade. They enter the contest with a record of 7-12, 2-5 SEC however their schedule to this point has been full of teams like UNC, Texas, and Marquette. The tigers are 11-7, 2-5 SEC.
The bulldogs are coming off a loss Wenesday to Texas A&M 55-49. Missippi State is led by freshman guard Fred Thomas who averages 10.6 point per game and 3.3 rebounds. Sophomore forward Roquez Johnson has 9.6 points a game and 4.7 rebounds. Freshman forward Gavin Ware has 8.6 points per games and leads the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game. Another key contributor to the bulldogs is sophomore guard Trivante Bloodman who has 5.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
LSU Tigers Take Down #17 Missouri Tigers 73-70!
LSU took their halftime lead into the second half with much confidence of pulling out a victory. Runs by Missouri made an LSU victory questionable at times. The game went back and forth but the LSU tigers would not give up their lead. Missouri fought hard to stay close and at times it looked as though they would catch the streaky home standing tigers. The LSU basketball team won a close one and found a way to survive a late comeback. A huge win in the Pmac.
Anthony Hickey and Andre Stringer were huge tonight. Anthony Hickey had 20 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in his 38 minutes tonight. Andre Stringer had 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists while playing 39 minutes. Johnny O’Bryant III played 38 minutes including 2 clutch free throws late to go along with his 14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot.
LSU moves to 11-7, 2-5 SEC and will play at Mississippi State Saturday night. Missouri falls to 15-5, 4-3 SEC.
